Hey! I have made a list of my favorite tear jerking young adult novels. So here is a list of books to read whether your sad yourself or you just need to have a good cry. (Is that weird? Sometimes I just need to have a good a cry. Oh well, we can be weird together!)
By John Green
One of my favorite books and movies! Definitely a perfect read if you want/need to have a good cry. Though, I am still not sure if I should hate John Green because of the ending. Hm.
The Way I Used to Be
By Amber Smith
This book was jaw dropping. It brought me speechless and in tears. A true eye opener to the horror of sexual assault, but may not be appropriate for those who find this kind of theme disturbing as there are multiple descriptive, haunting flashbacks throughout the novel.
Thirteen Reasons Why
By Jay Asher
I read this book when I was younger, and it has since left a mark on me. I remember as I was reading I kept thinking about my sister’s best friend who had committed suicide a few years before. She committed suicide when I was 7, so I never really felt that I was as deeply impacted as my sister and her friends. But while reading the book it definitely brought the reality of suicide and left me to rethink of that tragic time.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Me Before You
By Jojo Moyes
I just saw the movie and I have to say it was AMAZING! Just like when I was reading the book, I was an absolute mess. There was lots of snot, tears, and tissues. I know, scary. Don’t even get me started on my crying face. Now, that is SCARY.
